The Differences Between Online and Live Poker

When playing poker online, Indonesia players will find out that it is somewhat different from playing poker live. Of course, the game is still the same, whether you play it online or you play it live. You still bluff and bet and deliver bad beats.

At the same time, many experienced players say that the two types of games couldn’t be more different from one another than chess and checkers. In fact, once upon a time, not too far in the distant past, pros in online poker players and pros in live poker players were part of either one group or the other, and generally ignored one another.

But these days, players play both offline and online. Those who do, need to be aware of the nuances of both types of games.

Differences in live and online poker

Online cash games usually have smaller bet sizes. When it comes to live games, players can bet as much as five or six times the big blind and even more in the opening. On the other hand, in online games, betting amounts are much smaller, usually only twice or three times the blind.

In live games, there is a lot more loose play, with more multi-way pots. Online players will also make bigger post-flop calls. Since more people call online, it’s more common for online poker players to come across “bad beats”.

Of course, it’s natural to expect that online poker will be faster than live poker. In typical live games online scenarios, there are about sixty hands dealt in a no-limit Texas game. Meanwhile in live games, the number is usually half.

Another obvious difference is that since you can’t see your opponents, physical tells don’t play any role in online games like they do in live games.

These are the major differences that you may experience playing poker online in Indonesia.
